The Tabletoppers

These are some Miniatures I already painted last year, and played them at the german new-year turnament in Field of Glory. Turned out that despite beeing ferocious warriors, these warbands weren't as usefull I hoped they'd be, leaving me finishing 12 out of 13 players.... I still like the miniatures, the fist unit is supplied by Corvus Belli, the other ones manufacturer is unknown to me - maybe one of you knows. Hope you'll like 'em.  

These are some Thureophoroi or Thorakitai I originally painted for my late republican roman army, but thanks to my basing I'll be able to use them for my upcomming Macedonian/Seleucid/Successor Armys as well. Decals are once again by Little Big Me´n Studios. I'll try to picturise all the miniatures I finished the last year but didn't put on the blog yet in the upcomming days.   PS: as I used them in various tournaments already, some of them lost their spear. Seems I'll have to start a repeairing action soon. :/

After longer absence on this Blog - after getting a new computer it took some time remembering my login data - ther is some new stuff finished. In The Worlds 2016 touirnament in Charleroi, Belgium, I finished 10th of 30 competitiors playing a Wars of the Roses Yorkist army. Not only the belgian beer prooved to be quite effective, so did ,y unit of Liht Hores with Lances. To bad they were borrwed at that time. Luckily there were a lot of suppliers arround and one of thme hat some Corvus Belli miniatures to offer, which are sadly not produced anymore. I decided buying a untit of these Light Horse, and here they are: But not only these few miniatures got finished last week. As there is a tournament in Hamburg coming closer, some more miniatures have to be painted. As I still had some basecoated, but not jet started crossbows waiting for colour, I decided starting with these. I don't think they'll prove as a good option to take in your Field of Glory army, but everyone sho...

After finishig my Sparta project I had to move up to my next  Field of Glory Army. About one year ago I bought a big bunch of Corvus Belli miniatures fitting the "Caesars Romans" theme which tuned out to be a good decision as Corvus Belli stopped producing their 15mm ranges some months ago. Luckily I had already bought enough Legionaries and stuff to build that army containing a lot of heavy infantry. Legionarys might be quite expansive but to my mind they are absolutley worth their points in Field of Glory as they are really tough bastards to fight against ;) As I'm not yet sure how many bases one battlegroup shall be formed of, I deided to build first two legions of 4 bases both containing 3 legionaries and 1 command base and lateron painting one more base in the same colour sheme so I'm able to put them together as one Legion of 8 without having trouble with two command bases. So have a look oo my first roman Legion and some light archers !

My virst Visigotic Spearmen/ Warriors got finished today. I wsa verry lucky about the good detail of these Essex men. It was possible to me to take some pictures of my Psioli of my British DBA Army ( II/ 53) from Corvus Belli, which I am going to use for other times as well. I hope you'll like 'em.

After long waiting time,cause I painted hardly the last weeks, I was able to finish 2 more DBA bases. Unfortunately I was too addle to style the last base. I hope you'll like these Babarians, and mainly the fat general: me ! ;)

Hey there! My British DBA army is slowly growing! The next base is finished for battle, and I hope you like them! Unhappily the base is not finished yet. It would be nice if you could give me some feedback.

I can't get enough of can you get enough of.... psiloi I had some test painted celts hanging around here so I did a aditionally DBA Psiloi base with casualities. I don't need it, but I want it !! Like at my last base the ground is swamp. Additionaly I did a generic dark age shield design to be able to use the element in all forthcoming Dark age armies. In my Roman army its named: ,,Numerus Nemetum''.

Und hier sind sie endlich: meine lange erwarteten DBA Briten von Corvus Belli. Auf den Bildern seht ihr das erste Base Leichter Kavallerie, welche meine Feinde ( hoffentlich ) nerven werden. Das nächste Base ist noch in Aussicht, ich hoffe die Figuren gefallen euch. Für 15mm sind sie mir doch eigentlich ganz gut gelungen. And now for our english friends: And here they are !!! My long expected Corvus Belli Brisish babarians. How you can see, ther's only cav. to see at the moment, but infantery and chariots are going to follow. So stay tuned!
